As June approaches, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church warmly invites you to join us in celebrating Pride Month, a time dedicated to honoring the LGBTQ+ community and advocating for equality, love, and acceptance. Pride Month, beginning June 1st, is a vital opportunity to reflect on the Episcopal Church’s longstanding commitment to inclusivity and the dignity of every human being.
At St. Matthew’s, we believe that all people are created in the image of God and are deserving of love, respect, and affirmation. Our church is a welcoming community where diversity is celebrated as a reflection of God’s rich tapestry of creation. The Episcopal Church has consistently supported LGBTQ+ rights and has been a trailblazer in fostering a church environment where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, is embraced.
In June, St. Matthew’s will be participating in the Cleveland Pride Parade on June 7, along with 12 other Episcopal Churches from the Diocese. Staging for the parade is at 10:00 at Public Square in downtown Cleveland. Then on June 14, St. Matthew’s will have a booth at the 3rd Annual Brecksville/Broadview Heights PrideFest. This event runs from noon to 7 pm at 9543 Broadview Road. This year over 60 vendors are participating. Please join us for food and fun!
We invite you to be part of these celebrations and stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ siblings. Together, let us live out our baptismal covenant to strive for justice and peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being. Join us this Pride Month as we continue to build a church and a world where love truly knows no bounds.
